A letter to my city (Part 2)
A letter to my city: Part 2
Hello beautiful souls! I know it’s been a while since my last post. But also today I would like to share about my degree days in Bengaluru. So as I said in my last post, I had never actually settled in Bengaluru till 2016.

My dad is a Yakshagana artist so performing art was not new to me. But I had never imagined myself performing in front of hundreds of people with a spotlight on.
At first I joined theatre just to keep myself busy and I was also curious about it. But little did I know it will become my second home. This is not something to brag about but those who have been involved in student clubs in college can relate, that we will spend more time in clubs than in the classroom and I was no exception.
The team ‘Abhijna’ was always in the auditorium and lecturers were concerned about it. But our thoughts flowed in the same direction so we couldn’t help ourselves but do rehearsals. Our heart and soul belonged there and eventually we even won in state and national level competitions which made it a bit easy to convince our lecturers.
It is just a part of my theatre journey but what made it precious was the people I met there. We were from different streams and we hardly knew each other but today we are no less than a family. As I had stayed away from home for quite a long time, I was not happy when I was made to study in Bengaluru. It was more of the fear of not fitting in. But looking back I’m really happy that they made that decision.

Still it scares me a little when I think about settling in Bengaluru, but now along with my immense love towards the city I have got my people there and I think I’ll be fine with whatever that awaits me in the future.
Ps: Sometimes fear is good!
