A letter to my city: Part 2 Hello beautiful souls! I know it’s been a while since my last post. But also today I would like to share about my degree days in Bengaluru. So as I said in my last post, I had never actually settled in Bengaluru till 2016. Credits: PTI, Outlook India After completing my PU, my family decided that I have to study in Bengaluru and then as planned I got into college and as everyone I made friends and when everything was pretty basic I was introduced into this amazing club in my college and that’s ‘Theatrics’. My dad is a Yakshagana artist so performing art was not new to me. But I had never imagined myself performing in front of hundreds of people with a spotlight on. At first I joined theatre just to keep myself busy and I was also curious about it. But little did I know it will become my second home. This is not something to brag about but those who have been involved in student clubs in college can relate, that we will spend more time in clubs th...

A letter to my city (Part 1) Hello beautiful souls! Hope you are happy and healthy. Today I’m gonna unfold the reason for my treasured fondness towards my city. Briefly speaking, my native is Dakshina Kannada and like many nuclear families my parents have settled in Bengaluru for more than 30 years. Until now not even once have I lived in a single place. I stayed at boarding school for schooling. Only for my Degree I came back to Bengaluru. Again for Masters I once again left my city.  Over all these years I have met many people and comparatively I have spent more time in other places than Bengaluru. Whenever I was asked to introduce myself, I would say I'm from Bengaluru. Some have questioned my love towards this city, while others have come a step forward and corrected me by saying DK is what you have to say when you introduce yourself. Today I’m gonna answer all the questions that I have be...

Productivity: Every high comes with a crash

Productivity: Every high comes with a crash Hello beautiful souls! Here we meet once again, with yet another post on something that I haven’t stopped thinking about. Last week I was talking to my friend when she randomly mentioned the crazy amounts of unnecessary information we consume on a daily basis. This left me wondering! According to the Appinventiv survey of 2019-2020, precisely 3,739 apps are added to the Play Store every day. Ever wondered how much this affects your mental health? Along with your daily routines, be it work related or grocery shopping you store tons of information. Not to forget about thousands of posts you scroll on IG, FB, Twitter or Snapchat.  Credits: Quote fancy Our heart aches when we come across some death news, our blood boils when we read a controversy about our favorite celebrity or we fear when we see news about some new virus. When you are working late at night, say 1:00 a.m, suddenly you remember that a snail can sleep for 3 ...

F.R.I.E.N.D.S: From Overrated to Over the Moon!

Image
From Overrated to Over the Moon!  There are mainly two categories of people in this world: One, the die-hard fans of F.R.I.E.N.D.S and the other who thinks it’s overrated. And no matter which team you’re on, I bet you haven’t stopped hearing about this. The most awaited F.R.I.E.N.D.S reunion woohooo!!!!  Image Credits: India.com How you doin'? I’m writing this to share my transformation journey, of how an ignorant maniac who once thought that F.R.I.E.N.D.S was overrated, cried her eyes out while watching the reunion.  So during February 2020, HBO announced the reunion of our favorite and classic sit-com series F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Everyone around me and most of my friends were super excited about this. When this announcement happened Coronavirus had just started to visit India and lockdown was not yet declared. Those were the good old days, I was in Mangalore attending college and stressing over assignments, internals, presentation, and all the jazz! My two best friends...

The Calm within the Chaos

Image
The Calm within the Chaos Have you ever wondered what keeps you going throughout the day? Is it your aspirations, dreams, goals, deadlines or a good cup of chai? What is it that truly inspires you? How often in a day do you think positively about yourself?  Nothing clears the head like a good cup of chai ! Okay, to be honest, I don’t have the perfect answers to these questions either. Hello beautiful souls! I’m Nayana and this is my journey to find some answers and many more questions that have been running on my mind for a while now.  A little more about myself, I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Journalism and Mass Communication. Coming from a BCom background, these two years have introduced me to many new and interesting concepts. Also I have met so many amazing people throughout. Unfortunately, this happens to be my final and most stressful semester, because of everything that’s going on around me. This past year has felt like hell on earth with Covid-19 and has ...
